Breckenridge Ski Resort Information
Boasting 2,908 acres spanning across five peaks, Breckenridge Ski Resort has something for all abilities and interests. Beginner and intermediate trails are groomed nightly so skiers and riders can enjoy endless turns throughout the day. For the more expert and adventurous, Breckenridge has North America’s highest chairlift, the Imperial Express. The lift will take riders and skiers up to the high alpine bowls for unforgettable views and steeps. Park riders can also enjoy four terrain parks including two half-pipes and 187 trails across 25 acres.
With this huge amount of terrain to cover, Breckenridge provides 34 lifts to get you from one peak to another with ease. Included are four high-speed 6-passenger Super Chairs, six high speed quad lifts, one fixed quad lift, one triple lift, six double lifts, four surface lifts, and 11 “magic carpet” lifts.
While 11% of the resort is Easiest green runs, Breckenridge boast this as the “best learning terrain anywhere.” Skiers and riders will find most beginner trails located off the QuickSilver Super Chair on Peak 9 and the Rip’s Ride on Peak 8, including a portion the 3.5 mile Four O' Clock run, the longest trail at Breckenridge. Thirty-one percent of the trails are More Difficult blue runs including locals’ favorite Claimjumper, Northstar, and Crescendo – all on Peak 8, plus seven gently rolling blues on Peak 7, and more than 10 intermediate trails on Peak 9.
Looking for something a little more challenging . . . 24% of Breckenridge’s terrain is Most Difficult black diamonds including the Beyond Bowl on Peak 6 for a secluded back bowl feel, Duke’s Run on Peak 8 for a winning combination of both bumps and groomed terrain, Peak 9’s Peerless as a great place to master the bumps, and of course, the legendary glades of The Burn. Experts too can awaken their senses in the Sixth Sense Bowl on Peak 6 with some of the best powder at the resort that makes up the 34% of expert double diamond trails. Peak 7 offers vast steep terrain without the trees at a 45-degree pitch, while on Peak 8, the experienced skier and rider can enjoy amazing alpine vistas from atop Horseshoe Bowl or Imperial Bowl at 12,998 feet via the highest lift in North America!

Downhill skiing or snowboarding not quite your cup of tea? That’s okay too. Instead, discover cross-country skiing and nature snowshoeing at the Breckenridge Nordic Center. Visitors can experience easy rolling and expert terrain in the serene beauty of the White River National Forest. The Nordic Center also provides a full service lodge with snack bar, ski school/tours, rental/retail/wax/repair shop, and complimentary parking. Other popular activities in Breckenridge include the long time locals’ tradition, Ullr Fest celebrating its 54th anniversary this year, the Dew Tour, Women’s Ski Week, and the Hartford Ski Spectacular, which is the nation’s largest winter sports festival for people with physical disabilities. With more than 800 registered participants annually, this week-long event includes learn-to-ski and race programs, youth development camps and corporate races.
